The David J. Bentz III Scholarship Fund is proud to announce that Hope
Millward has won the 2nd Annual Memorial Scholarship. Her hard work and
determination have earned her $5,000! We are proud to honor a lovely young
lady who has exhibited commitment, dedication, and a passion to succeed on
the playing field but more importantly, in the classroom.
The competition for this year's award though was difficult. There were ten (10)
individuals who applied and each of those individuals presented a strong
resume. However, the Scholarship Fund is confident with the selection of Hope
and feel that she is most deserving of this award.
A college education is more than just books and academia. For many, it is the
opportunity to forge new friendships and discover aspects of various cultures
that they may never have known before. It is a time to renew the commitment,
dedication, and passion that one has. We are sure that Hope will continue to
grow as an individual and use the gift that DJ has provided her.
Hope, you are the one who has been selected to “forge” ahead and embark
upon a new journey. We look forward to watching you grow and somehow
integrate your past with what lies ahead in the great unknown.
We are excited for you and your family and we'd like to extend our warmest
wishes. It is with great trepidation that we move from what is known to what is
unknown. It is with great pleasure that we enjoy the fruits of our labor. The
Scholarship Fund wants to congratulate you on moving out into that great
unknown and wishes you nothing but great pleasure in reaping the benefits of
what you sow! And it is what you sow that will make a difference.
