Iraqi Campaign Medal
The Defense Department announced the Afghanistan Campaign
Medal and Iraq Campaign Medal for military members who directly
support Operation Enduring Freedom between Oct. 24, 2001, and a
date to be determined in the future or Operation Iraqi Freedom
between March 19, 2003, and some future date.

"By awarding separate medals, we will recognize the specific
contribution that our servicemen and women have made in
Afghanistan and Iraq,” said Bill Carr, deputy undersecretary of
defense for military personnel policy. “It’s appropriate that we
present them with an award that truly honors their heroic
service in these operations."
